About Draggin' Viewer
---------------------
Welcome to Draggin' Viewer, Shareware Version 1.00! Draggin' Viewer
is a drag & drop text file viewer utility for Microsoft Windows,
Version 3.1. (Sorry, this application will not work with Windows 3.0
or earlier.) It appears as an icon on the Desktop. Select one or more
text or Windows Write file names in the Windows File Manager. Drag the
names to the Draggin' Viewer icon, and the files will be opened for
viewing or editing in Windows Notepad or Write, depending on their size
and extension. (Notepad is limited to files of less than about 50500 bytes.)
Options for Draggin' Viewer are accessed by clicking on the icon and
selecting an item from the system menu.
Installation
------------
The self-extracting file you just ran, DRAGGN.EXE, contains this file
and the file DVV100S.EXE. Copy DVV100S.EXE to a temporary directory,
and execute it. It will create the following files:
Name Size Date Time
------------ -------- -------- --------
DRAGGIN.EXE 14558 10-28-92 10:53p
SYSMENU.DLL 1033 08-07-92 3:27a
Copy DRAGGIN.EXE to your Microsoft Windows default directory, normally
named \WINDOWS. SYSMENU.DLL is a support file for Draggin' Viewer; copy it
to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. I recommend the use of the Windows File
Manager for these tasks, and would NOT overwrite a file of the same name
but with later dates.
Windows Write and Windows Notepad must be in a directory in your DOS path
for Draggin' Viewer to function properly.
One additional support file is required to use Draggin' Viewer:
VBRUN100.DLL. If you run any other Visual Basic programs, you have this
file, probably in your \WINDOWS or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Otherwise,
VBRUN100.DLL is available on the same BBS or on-line system where you
obtained DRAGGN.EXE.
To execute Draggin' Viewer, add its icon to a Program Manager Program
Group, or click on DRAGGIN.EXE in File Manager.
NOTES ABOUT THIS VERSION
------------------------
1. Draggin' Viewer is a drag & drop client. It is especially recommended
to load it with the File Manager. This can be accomplished by adding
DRAGGIN.EXE, separated by a space, to the Program Manager command line
for the File Manager (WINFILE.EXE). See your Program Manager
documentation.
2. Draggin' Viewer defaults to "Always On Top" mode. This keeps it
visible when another window covers it. If you are annoyed by holes
in your maximized documents, toggle "Always On Top" off by clicking
the system menu option.
3. Close Draggin' Viewer by clicking on "Close" from the system menu.
